
FIRST PLACE - Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod

Congratulations to the City of Greater Dandenong Band on winning the B Grade Brass Band section at the 60th Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod Traralgon today!!
Congratulations also to the City of Traralgon Band for placing second and Warragul Municipal Band who placed third.
The City of Greater Dandenong Band also performed in the A Grade Brass Band section today placing third behind Darebin City Brass first and Kew Band Melbourne second. A big thanks to Steve Semmler-Farr for helping us out in this section on percussion!
Yesterday Maddi Mathers placed second in both the Under 16 Cornet solo and the Junior Brass Championship Solo. She was also awarded the Merv Leitch Memorial Trophy for the most promising Junior Cornet Player! Congratulations Maddi!
Congratulations also to soloists Todd O'Shea and Cathy Bardi who performed superbly in their sections last night.
Yesterday also saw the City of Greater Dandenong Band Quintet place first and our Quartet place second in the quartet/quintet section taking out the Clyde Couch Shield. And our small ensemble won their section winning the Les Davidson Shield! A massive congratulations to all of our players in these groups.
Overall a fantastic weekend of music, it was great to see so many bands in attendance and so many brilliant performances! The City of Greater Dandenong Band is especially proud to have performed in their main section today with only Dandenong Band Members on stage!!
A big thank you to the Dandenong Band supporters, the Victorian Bands' League and the Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod organisers and volunteers for putting on a wonderful weekend!
